Danbury

So I met Kris for some shopping and sushi today. She gave me the 30 Seconds to Mars cd. Can I tell you how much I love it and Jared Leto! Does anyone remember My So Called Life- he was the clueless but beautiful Jordan Catalano? He is lead singer- yum...

We had edamame and fried tofu squares with some veggie sushi- avocado, asparagus and cucumber. And Trader Joes had organic avocados- a bag of 4 for $4!!! I usually pay more than that for nonorganic! I stocked up on tons of stuff and got some vegan multivitamins. I also got Sharon's sorbet in coconut- looking forward to trying that. And who doesn't love Newman-O's? (I really did buy more than tasty snacks- I swear!!!)

Here I am at home on a Sat night.... I could tell you stories of my dating hell that would curl your toes. I seem to find the ones who have issues of all types- big and small... It is very sad...

Yes, do tell.....we ALL have dating horror stories.

Yummy food and bargains, great stuff and the singer is kinda cute too, more yummmm.....

Remember, its better to be without someone than to be with the wrong one, way, way better.....the latter is just a big waste of time and lots of potential heartache too.

Huggs, G

PS And a hugg for Penny too, Headbonk from the Mitz, if that's allowed feline to canine LOL....

Edamame! Yumamame!!

You are not alone about the Saturday night situation... And let me add as well that i have spent probably half my life in and out of dating hell, Karen.

If you knew the stories of some of the unbelievable monsters (and i mean that in the most non-facetious way) i have gotten involved with in my life (and for long periods of my life on top of it), you would not believe it.

It has taken me a while to recover from a lot of bad decisions i made, a long time to get back my self-esteem after years of poor choices about what i did with my time, energy, money, heart, spirit and soul.

Karen, i'm so very sorry for any sadness and anguish you are dealing with. I totally believe what G says, above, about "wrong ones" out there...

There are good ones out there... be patient, take care of yourself first (and Penny too!) --- and love will find its way to you in the most amazing ways. I do believe that!

And i was a huge fan of "my so-called life" tho i didn't watch it when it was airing regularly. I caught reruns when they were on MTV years ago and i have to agree about Jared Leto. I loved Claire Danes' character inthat show. I could relate to some of her issues, as well as seeing a lot of my friends (and myself) in the other cast members. That show as truly wonderful in many ways. And Jordan Catalano... oy! Soooooooooooooo cute. I have wondered for a while now how his band is... curious about his musicianship.

Oh Karen, where to start. Seems like we've all had dating hell disasters. But it's true - better to be without than be in a shitty relationship. I got married very young (20) and after 5 and a bit years, realized that I shouldn't have. Then I dated a bit, ended up in an intense relationship that lasted quite a while, but was a bit volatile and just too "big". It was one of those things where the good times were incredible, but the bad times were hell. Then I was single for a long time before I met Jim. We got married when I was 38. He was definitely worth waiting for. I wasn't looking for anyone and there he was. He was a little slow in asking me out, so I asked him first. No harm in that. If he'd said no, I would have stopped wasting my time and moved on. But he said yes and look at us now.
Anyhow, friends are awesome and they care about you. Spending time with them can be some of the most rewarding times in your life. So, surround yourself with those who love you and when you least expect it - there he'll be! Believe me!!

Hey Karen - don't let those boys get you down! As the old saying goes: you gotta kiss a lot of frogs, etc etc.

here, you can learn from one of my many very own personal dating horror stories: I was once dating this guy I like to refer to as "Jordan Catalano" (because he was awfully beautiful and aloof, rather in the vein of Joran Catalano.) I'll save you the boring middle part of the story (we dated, it was good for a while, and then he kept expecting me to do all these things for him.) The proverbal camel-back breaking straw was when his toilet kept breaking and he expected me to get up in the middle of the night to fix it... to fix HIS toilet! ah, JC, so cute, so helpless.

I tried to post earlier but blogger kept eating my commments.

woo-wie Jared is a looker. I love those Newman-O's too. No dating advice here. I got married right out of highschool and despite hell and high water have stayed that way. I gotta say that the last 7 years have been worth waiting for though. We grew into good ones. :)

Mmmm. sushi sounds so yummy. I need to make it again.

I'd love to read about dating hell stories, if you want to write about them. I've been married and/or committed for going on 20 years. ;)

Dating: Take your time and be choosy. You deserve the best. It's hard to be patient but being impateint means settling...don;t do that!

I love the 4/$4 organic avocado deal at Trader Joe's, too.

The Devils? Oh Karen. I'm a Leafs girl through and through. I will admit that Martin Brodeur is one of the best goaltenders around today. He's been the starter for Team Canada in all world competitions for the past few (6-8) years. Whenever I think of NJ Devils, Seinfeld always comes to mind with David Puddy, a face painter! Did you ever see that one? It was hilarious!
