Time for the vet...
So, I'm finally getting settled in my new place... I was playing with penny in the yard and thought I felt a tick on the side of her face. It wasn't. It is a wierd looking growth. I'm taking her to the vet tommorrow afternoon to see what it is. I'm a bit nervous because of her age. We'll see what he says. Oh, I used to live in this town and the vet is fantastic. I am glad to be back here so I can use him again.

Karen, other than good health, there are few things more important than a good doctor - for us AND for our doggies! It is a relief to know Penny will be in good hands.
Mattie came into my life a few years ago with a lot of growths... small wart-like things and bigger tumor-types of things. All of them turned out to be harmless, and of course it is my hope that Penny will get the same bill of good health. Glad you are going to have everything checked out.
A few days before I left for the short trip to Chicago, I found two ticks on Mattie. I thought they were warts but disgustingly they were not. Yuck. I don't like to kill anything, but I break my own "thou shalt not kill" commandment when it comes to both fleas and ticks!! It was ironic to see your post on this matter.
I am thinking good thoughts for Penny...
Good to see you post again!

aww...i know how that feels. during Bears last few years of his life, he kept getting cancerous growths. none of them were life threatening though. and it wasn't the tumors that took his life.
at that age, it's quite common. I'm sure she will be fine. but i'll say a quick prayer for you. and i don't pray!
Thanks Kleopatra and Tanya Kristine for your comments and positive vibes! It's nice to have an online "family"!
